Your Wedding Cake Journey Awaits...

In the Sweet and Lowe Cake Design kitchen, your cake will never be "JUST" a cake...it is one of the most important aspects to grace any celebration. So if you're a couple looking for a modern, flawlessly finished, tastes as good as it looks wedding cake, you're in the right place.
From enquiring to delivery and set up, here is what you can expect

Step 1 - Check Availability

Once you have booked your venue, get in touch with me to check my availability for your wedding. Checking my availability is hassle free, just click the Check Availability option or send me an Email, including as much information about your wedding as possible (guest numbers, date of your wedding, your venue, budget, any design inspiration etc.). There is no obligation to proceed with a booking when checking availability. A telephone call may be scheduled upon request. I will provide you with a 'typical spend' guide based on your requested style, guest numbers and any other design elements you have your heart set on, however, a final price is based on many factors such as size, design, intricacy, any sugar work, added elements etc. and couldn't be confirmed until your cake design is drafted. It would be helpful at this stage to make me aware of your desired budget.

I aim to respond to your enquiry within 48 hours, however, during particularly busy times it may take me a little longer to respond so I thank you in advance for your patience.

Step 2 - Secure Your Date

Once my availability for your wedding has been confirmed, and you would like me to create your dream wedding cake, you can secure your date in my diary with a £100 non-refundable booking fee. I take on a maximum of two weddings per week to ensure that each cake is given my undivided attention. During peak wedding season, dates can be booked up 1-2 years in advance.

If you know that you would like me to make your wedding cake, but you haven't yet decided on a design, that's absolutely fine. You can still secure your date with me. Then around 6-9 months before your wedding, we will meet for a consultation and cake tasting to choose your flavours and begin bringing your cake vision to life.

Step 3 - Consultations

Consultations are usually carried out 6-9 months prior to your wedding in person or via zoom, depending on your preference, and last for one hour. When we meet we will discuss all aspects of your wedding to ensure that your wedding cake reflects you as a couple and complements the overall theme of your wedding. You will receive my signature tasting box which I recommend taking away to enjoy together in your own time over a glass of your preferred bubbly. Prior to your consultation you will be sent a questionnaire to complete which allows me to gather important details so I can make the most of our consultation time. During the consultation it would be useful to have on hand any colour samples, stationary, or other inspiration you may wish to incorporate into your design.

If you have secured your date with me, the cost of the consultation and taster box is included in your total wedding cake cost. If you would like to schedule a consultation prior to securing your date, the cost is £55. This includes my signature tasting box and a one hour consultation. When you then secure your date with me, the consultation fee will be deducted from your overall wedding cake cost.

*Postal tasting boxes and zoom consultations are available for my non local couples.

Step 4 - Final check in, delivery & set up

Around 8 weeks before your wedding I will contact you to check in, answer any questions that may have come up and finalize any important details.

Your balance is payable 30 days before your wedding and your booking fee will be applied to your overall total.

The week of your wedding I will liase with your wedding planner (if applicable), your florist (if having fresh flowers) and your venue to coordinate delivery and set up times.

All you have to do is show up and eat cake! (And say "I Do" of course!)

Please note that although I work on a variety of styles and techniques (see my FAQ's for more), all of my cakes are fully iced with a coating of white chocolate ganache for crisp edges and covered in fondant for a flawless finish. Buttercream finished cakes including naked and semi-naked designs are not finishes that I currently offer.
